pido una fuerte disculpa a tagomago, por el toque que tuvimos en la curva 4 creo que no me vio en los espejos , que yo venia por dentro y nos cacheteamos, me siento mal, por que a pesar de ambos nos fuimos al pasto, el no pudo continuar, no e visto el replay, pero creo que fue culpa mia.
de auto castigo no clasifico en la próxima carrera......
felicitaciones gaizca y clive, inalcanzables.
venia tratando de pescar al misil del jorge, en un gordini que toca revisar muy bien por los marchals, ya que debe de tener un motor mercedes escondido con seguridad, y en la penúltima curva siguió derecho, me imagino que a hacer su propia vida, y casi que lo sigo jejejeje, que lastima jorge, venias durisimo....
nos vemos el otro martes. y reitero mi disculpa a tago.....

Paul did his best to hold the lead but ultimately fell to Gaizka's assault. Not deterred, he engaged in a fierce battle for some laps with Clive each in the brutish Lancia. Good stuff there. Sadly, it all came to an end late in the race with a trip to the barriers. Bad luck there, Paul.

Gaizka marched off to a convincing win in the Vanwall. Clive maintained a good P2 for the duration after Paul's demise. Ricky scores a solid podium in his Ferrari.

Bad luck along the way for Tago, Cayo and Jorge from contending positions. No justice.

I was running a solitary P7 for quite some time but as others fell to retirements, found myself in a surprise P4 at the flag. It pays to be careful.

Really pleased with my run here. Save for the opening lap, all lap times in the same 3m03s bracket. No 64's which is always something I aim for here at Assen(ditto, Aintree and Solitude).

Missed a few of our regulars. On to sunny California!

A primera hora de la tarde noté que se me atascaba el acelerador, pero pude volver a darle la vuelta con el pie. Me pilló en carrera al final de la recta y al final se atascó del todo a falta de unas vueltas. Creo que ahora se ha roto el muelle de retorno.
He tenido estos pedales mucho tiempo. Han hecho cientos de carreras por lo que tal vez el tiempo para algunos nuevos. Pero primero los desmontaré y veré qué ha pasado.

Earlier in the evening I noticed my gas pedal was sticking but I was able to flip it back again with my foot. It caught me out in the race at the end of the straight and finally stuck down completely with a few laps to go. I think the return spring has broken now.
I have had these pedals a long time. They have done hundreds of races so maybe time for some new ones. But first I will take them apart and see what has happened.

Esta vez me faltaron vueltas en este circuito

Cuando hago mi PB en la qualy suele ser vaticinio de malos augurios para los resultados de carrera, como así fué

Así que me puse detrás de Clive en las salida y además conseguí superarlo ... luego al finalizar la vuelta no tomé bien la última curva antes de meta y Clive me superó con olgura

Pequeños fallos en la siguiente vuelta le dieron opciones a Jorge de pasarme antes de llegar a T2, pero fallando el final de la entrada en curva ... lo pude esquivar y continuar 4º ... en la siguiente vuelta era Enrique el que me disputaba la frenada de T2 ... esta vez yo le disputé el exterior pero el pierde el coche y nos salimos ... tampoco he visto la repe Enrique pero estoy seguro que era una batalla limpia ... tu pierdes un poco el coche y nos tocamos ... o yo dejo menos espacio del que creo y nos tocamos ... ningún problema Enrique ... ni se te ocurra penalizarte por nada!! ...

Entonces dejé pasar el tráfico y quedé detrás de un Mercedes creo que de Cayo ... y con las prisas olvidé el necesario cambio de ritmo cuando vas atrás, así que en una frenada para mi temprana de Cayo yo me lo comía sin remedio ... fallo mio descarado ... así que me fui al césped y luego a las balas de paja para evitar otros desaguisados y cuando volvi a pista quedé detrás del Mercedes de Xuggy ... ésta vez le puse paciencia (creo) hasta la famosa frenada de T2 dónde con prisas le pedí una reducción al motor imposible de digerir

Xug relata que quedó encharcado de aceite y trozos de bielas a parte del susto mayúsculo

Lástima ese fallo de pedales en tu Lancia Paul

This time I lacked laps on this circuit

When I do my PB in qualifying it is usually a bad omen for the race results, as it happened.

So I got behind Clive at the start and managed to overtake him ... then at the end of the lap I didn't take the last corner before the finish line well and Clive overtook me with a nosebleed.

Small mistakes in the next lap gave Jorge options to pass me before reaching T2, but failing the end of the corner entry ... I could avoid him and continue 4th ... in the next lap was Enrique who disputed me the braking of T2 ... this time I disputed him the outside but he loses the car and we went out ... I have not seen the replay Enrique but I'm sure it was a clean battle ... you lose a little bit the car and we touch ... or I leave less space than I think and we touch each other... no problem Enrique ... don't even think about penalizing yourself for anything!!! ...

Then I let the traffic pass and I was behind a Mercedes ... I think he was Cayo ... and with the rush I forgot the necessary change of pace when you go back, so in a Cayo's early braking (for me) I was going to eat him without remedy ... my blatant failure ... so I went to the grass and then to the straw bales to avoid other messes and when I returned to the track I was behind Xuggy's Mercedes ... this time I put patience (I think) until the famous braking of T2 where in a hurry I asked for a reduction to the engine impossible to digest.

Xug reports that he was left with a lot of oil and pieces of connecting rods apart from the big scare.
