First laps for me yesterday. Similarly to how I did for Tucumán, to follow Tago was very helpful for me to speed up the process of learning the track.
What a joy, Anglesey! Another beauty from Pete Bennett :porfa: that demands a lot of braking  and that really rewards finding the racing line. PB so far: 1:45 (default setup)
:D

I am not looking forward to this one. No brakes after 3 laps.

It is a shame that the brake fade was made so severe. I am sure the 55 mod would be more popular without it.

I'm sure that you are right Paul but would it be any better?
I think that the mod team have been quite clever because what it does is dictate that the driving style must be totally different. If you allow people to abuse the brakes as they do in all other mods then it would just be another set of graphics.

It is probably more severe than it was back then but we are not going to die if we get it wrong and there needs to be something to stop everybody using the brakes to steer the car at mid corner.

Quite frankly I don't bother with GPL without 55mod.

But Anglesey is a pain.

Me alegra saber que no soy el único que va en rojo todo el rato aquí :jiji:
Glad to know I'm not the only one who goes red all the time here

Supongo que tendremos que alargar las frenadas mucho mas de lo que tendemos a hacer :-D
I guess we will have to extend braking much longer than we tend to do

Well done Xug.

I think that I am too old for this one! There is no rest anywhere.

¡Bien hecho, Xug!

¡Creo que ya soy demasiado mayor para esto! No hay descanso en ninguna parte.

This is not a lost circuit but one currently in use on the island of Anglesey, Wales. A tricky, twisty club circuit which is great fun, especially in the slower GPL cars. This has been a lot of hard work with the elevations, draw distances and horizon files requiring a lot of effort. Thanks go to Dave Cheshire for the fabulous real-life photos used for the horizon.

I had a screen freeze when running wide at the penultimate turn.

By then I had already made a couple of mistakes so i doubt I would have finished anyway :)

Well done all that did finish.

Thanks for organising and hosting.

See you next time.

That was a disappointment.

Found that I had the wrong setup for the race and corrected it whilst the grid was forming. But the current setup was still wrong and that is the one that I ended up with.

Well done all finishers.

Walking away from Anglesey with a podium was a pipe-dream at best. Thanks to misfortune for Clive and Paul plus a disastrous spin by Xuggy, I got to claim the final podium placing. Lucky boy.

Maserati had a fire sale, apparently. Four of the six starters sported the Italian trident. :)

By rights, I shouldn't have run more than a few metres off the grid. As the green fell, I launched well only to accidentally touch my left side paddle and change down to neutral. With my foot planted on the throttle, the revs went to the moon on a relatively cold engine. I realized quickly what I'd done and got back into gear but Xuggy was nicely alongside and fully deserving of taking the place. For the next 16 laps, I tried my best to rattle Xuggy but he was solid. At best, I could only run a metre or so off his tail but I was never in a position to make a bid for a pass. We had Tago just up the road and mid-race, we were actually closing down on him. Lap17 and Xuggy had the misfortune to bounce off the curb on the exit of T1 and lose traction for a quick spin. I did a similar job in a recent GP65 race. Over the closing laps, I just put my chin down and pressed on looking to not make any crucial errors. Made it home with Gaizka putting me a lap down as the flag was almost in sight.

I noted Paul's disco after running wide in a corner. Geeezzz... Pete Bennett must be made aware of this. Clive seems to have run short of fuel from what I can make out thanks to some frantic last minute changes before going to the grid. Dear me...

The G-man just light-years ahead with pole, FTD and the win. Tago a solid run to P2. I'm gifted with a podium.
Those who do not learn from history will be condemned to relive its mistakes.
