I am beginning to hate this mod.

The car look great but I can't race them.
The brakes are different every lap so I dare not risk risk overtaking anyone in case I can't stop which ruins it or me.

Thanks for organising anyway :)

Too bad you didn't enjoy this one...

The mod has a direct effect on the braking behaviour at the moment ... and then a warming up effect every so often, which makes it worse and even if you're not overloading the brakes you'll get into the red sooner than you expect.

This means that you need a conditioning lap at that moment and then you can continue pushing

Congratulations to Gaizka, Enrique and Tago.

What a dreadful evening I had! Any success that I have had with this mod is firmly based on not making mistakes but my evening was littered with them.

I messed up the final sector of my qually lap, not that I could have displaced either Gaizka or Paul.

At the start Enrique jumped me when I was slow off the line and I spent some time following him, waiting for a mistake. This came and I was up to 3rd, only to make a mistake of my own, which then dropped me behind Tago.

I obviously gave him too much training in FP4 as I could not find a way past and then started to make even more mistakes!

Not my best performance.

Thinking about it afterwards, whilst the Lancia was the obvious choice, I don't have a setup for it which makes it a car that I like to drive, on any track, and at a new track that just gets worse as the event progresses.

There are a high number of tracks that are new to me in this series so I may not make all of them, just to spare myself the misery.

Westwood turned out to be tougher than I had initially imagined. To be sure, braking for Marshall's Hairpin was a challenge but from pre-race trials, I thought I had it covered. Not so! I skated off there rather violently in qualifying and again in the race. Only similar mistakes by Xuggy allowed me to finish ahead of him. It was a roll of the dice. Certainly a fun track and well worth the effort.

Great job by Gaizka for the win. Ricky a fine P2. Tago scoops a podium. Well done, chaps! :)
Those who do not learn from history will be condemned to relive its mistakes.

Thx all for racing :piloto:

Here the training was definitive for me

To trace minimally well Valley Corner Curve (T3a & T3b) and to hold the car in the braking at Marshall's Hairpin (T4) were the key for me

In qualifying I got my PB which put me 5th

We started well and after a few laps chasing Clive who was getting away from me I continued behind Enrique who was recovering from an excursion

Then it was Clive who joined me but I was lucky that he did it behind me

There we started a good round of battles that ended positively for me

The battle in front of Paul and Gaizka is worth seeing ... my congratulations to both of them for keeping up that great battle :bien:

Thx all for racing :piloto:

Now that we've reached mid-season with the completion of this GP I would like to take a moment to cheer Paul up by sharing something personal.

I truly & deeply appreciate our duels & battles on track, both during our league races as well as when training / preparing for them.
You've been driving really fast this year, much faster than the last two seasons, and only small details have made the difference in the end (regardless of what the championship standings say).
Similarly to 2022 you've raised the bar of the champ and made me work really hard for the wins.
I wish you'd valued more your amazing performance in Westwood so that the 2nd spot would've overcome the frustration you felt for losing the chance to fight for the win near the end of the race.
Keep pushing! (please) ;)

P.S. Glad to see that at least things are going better for you at GPLRacer :bien:
P.P.S. The same goes for you, Clive. I only feel sorry for your DNFs until I see your results at UKGPL :D
