NUTS! Lost the engine on Lap23 while chasing hard after Tago for a podium. Grrr...

Fine job by Gaizka to score the win. Clive a good P2 while still not entirely on his game. Tago full marks for that final podium step. Well done, chaps! :)

Sorry to have lost both Paul and Stefan to shunts.

I worked hard in pre-race trials to break into the 14's with no success so was at least pleased to do so in official qualifying. Only by a mere 1/100 of a second but it counts! :)

My first couple of laps were, frankly, a bit shaky and indeed, on Lap03, I skated off the road in T1. Xuggy was close behind and I swear a heard a chuckle from him as he sailed by. Didn't panic from the incident and got back onto the road in short order to pursue Xuggy and was astonished to find, only seconds later, that he fell off the road in the hairpin giving the place back to me. You're too kind, Xuggy! Over the next laps, we lost Stefan and Paul and I found myself not far behind Tago. Took up the chase but was keeping something in reserve as I didn't want a repeat of the T1 gaffe on Lap03. Soon, I saw Clive not far up the road and it looked very much like we'd have a three-some going for positions two-four. I wasn't pushing too hard but around Lap20, I decided to up the pace a bit and see if I could force Tago into a mistake. Was very close behind on some occasions but never quite in a position to challenge. Lap23 and on the run down to T1, the motor gave out. Groan... I looked at the replay cap and compared my revolutions to those used by Clive who was also in the Maser and from what I could see, he was asking considerably more from the engine than I was. Poo happens...

This was the first time using Tucuman with the GP55's and I quite liked it. Thanks to the PDLR for selecting and hosting it. :)

I think that we will have to chalk that one up to the Lucky Yellow Masser.

When the curtain fell on qualifying, I was still putting shims in the diff to try to obtain the on-power steering that I was looking for, so it is fortunate that I actually had enough fuel for the race. As for a braking pattern that might be good for 36 laps, I had to make it up as I went.

I had decided when I first saw Tucuman that it would be a good place to race 250cc Karts. The Merc and Lancia looked like too much car, especially given the state of the driver.

I had to minimise my screen time, so didn't do FP4 and joined part way through qualifying.

The race showed that getting the Merc and Lancia slowed enough for T1 was a challenge, which left me in 2nd spot with Tago some 4 or 5 seconds behind me.

Apart from one coughing fit, this seemed to be sustainable but then Doni's engine expired and Tago must have been told that it was hammer time!

With about nine laps to go I became aware that Tago was after me and I could soon hear the low notes of the Lancia engine.

Sure enough, Tago made a dive up the inside at T1. I'm so glad that he chose that spot because my brakes were good and his were probably a little hot, having followed me for a lap. I pushed as far into the corner as I dared, and was rewarded by seeing Tago edging off onto the grass.

I just needed three steady laps to take 2nd place. And I regard that as a win!

Thanks for organising and congratulations to Gaizka for his amazing pace and consistency.

Thx all for racing ;)

Yes, as Doni and Clive say it was an exciting race, too bad the engine gave out on Doni, and the mishaps of Stefan and Paul

I qualified well getting my 13 (very high but 13) :piloto:

So I tried to start well and keep the line ... to hold the nerves was not so easy and as a result of this and his better pace I gave the position to Stefan and then with a small braking failure to Clive.

In that 5th position I managed to temper my nerves and start to ride comfortably ... We overtook Paul who was coming from a short excursion and I assumed that he would overtake me like a plane ... At this point Stefan withdraws from the fights and from the race, a pity.

Paul's Lancia had to be touched because in 2 laps in my wake, being better than me in many points, he could not find a way to overtake me, and after his retirement, also a pity, we were a pack of Clive in front at 1-4 seconds over me and Doni behind reducing his disadvantage over me with ease and consistency.

The laps in which Doni was approaching me I concentrated on following the line as best as possible not to lose time with Clive.

The thing promised excitement but Doni's engine stopped ... a pity Doni.

So as there were laps to go and knowing from our practice laps that without fuel I would lap in better times I tried to keep the pace.

In fact I got close to Clive and managed to catch him to overtake him, however I could not keep my car on the asphalt.

Very happy with my 3rd place after driving well and being able to put up a good fight.

Thx all for racing ;)

One key difference could be that Clive spent most of the race in clean air, whereas you spent it in dirty air.
Doni, Clive, could you display in GPLRA your oil & water temperature for laps 18-22, please?

Sorry, Gaizka, but I cannot provide that data from the server replay cap. Temps show blank. After downloading the server version, I deleted my personal copy. That would have had the numbers you seek. Too bad...

Indeed, that data is not sent to the server and therefore not available in the server replay.
