Woohoo, fantastic race! :D

This track never lets you down, it needs your attention all over, and it's fun.

I messed up qual order, so I had to change helmet color and re-join, so I lost a position on the grid and started from P5.

After a supersafe start I was chasing Will and Sergio, then Quico and Sergio, then Quico, and in the very last lap I could manage a clean pass and finish P2.

One of my finest races this year. Thank you guys!

Grats Keni! Awesome pace ;)

**

¡Guau, carrera fantástica! :D

What a great race while I was on the track: D. My fight was with Will and Quico, but especially with Jani. It was seven laps to the maximum, marking almost my PB, which is not little. I had a regular start and I had to overtake Will not without much effort, and then defend myself from Jani who was faster than me, but he could not pass me, although I was at the limit of the legal more than once, Jani, sorry if in some moment I bothered you, but I was not going to sell you cheap my third place: rambo:.
On lap six, Tron had a serious mistake and I got very close, so much that I saw clearly passing him, but passing the limits. A couple of times, blinded by the dust that Tron kicked up on some corner, I hit the fences and left the Brabham quite touched. With that crazy rhythm the easiest thing was to make a mistake, and that's how it was. I went off the track and was out of the race: cry:: cry:: cry:. A pity because there were four laps of real heart attack left, along with Jani and Tron, but it couldn't be; I retired and watched the fight with Jani on replay.
Will, Jani, great great race last night, super intense: good:: good:.
Tron, you got off your feet last night, I wasn't going to leave all stickers on you: shot:: shot:: shot:.
Congratulations to the podium and to all the pilots (I think you finished all of them)

PS: I like the GPL more and more !!!!

Well said Sergio and Jani. I thought I was going to have a heart attack at any moment with Sergio and Jani on my tailpipe. They were clearly faster and I did my best to hold 3rd but it was either have my heart explode or let them pass. As Jani said, each corner requires complete concentration. I needed a shower after 3 laps. I could hear Doni gaining on me so I sweated all the way to the flag. Really nice run by Keni as my evil pit chief met a German babe in the bar and failed to make it to the Cooper tent....this time..... 8)

Grats podium!!!!

Bien dicho Sergio y Jani.

Alguna vez he pensado hacerlo, pero luego no me acuerdo nunca.

I trained with my own setup (which is soft and is the one with which I have my PB) and with Bloods, which I did not begin to understand until the afternoon of the race. With the two setups I was comfortable and had similar times, but I decided to use Blood's for the last qualifying and the race. Everything worked well except that on the 5th lap I got lost in the last turn of the first partial - the first turn after the highest point of the track - and I lost 3 or 4 seconds that allowed those who came behind to get closer.
That was bad for Sergio, as my dust blinded him in many corners. For that this track is very bad and I say that the option "dust" in the gpl menu should be unchecked. I've ever thought about doing it, but then I never remember.
At one point, I saw that it was no longer Sergio who was following me but Jani, and I tried not to get distracted to see if I could keep the situation under control, but Jani had speed and consistency and I couldn't contain him.

A race to forget a bit about the last and continued disasters. Although I was not as fine as I would have liked, a podium at Solitude is always to be happy.

Congratulations to those who had a good time.
no corrais que es peor...

Time to catch up on things...

Zolder:

A heartbreaker for Keni! :( He was miles ahead of everyone and given another dozen laps or so, most probably would have lapped me. The Maser engine is typically quite robust so for it blow sky high, KB must have missed a shift or three somewhere along the line.

Grats to Sergio on a fine win! Will & Tago kept him honest, though, finishing P2 and P3 respectively not all that far behind.

I was heading for a good result but on Lap29 and going over the rise, the engine went sour and I lost drive to the rear axle. If you look closely at the replay cap, you will see a tiny puff of smoke coming off the engine just as I start the rise. Without torque to control the rear axle, the Cooper got away from me and it spun wildly into the berm and flipped over. Game over. Without the misfortune of turning turtle, I may have been able to nurse the engine for another few miles to get a P4. Not to be.

Solitude:

Keni did it right this time! A solid victory in the Cooper with breathtaking pace. Well done.

Jani a splendid P2 in the Brabham not all that far ahead of TRON aboard his Cooper. Great job, fellas.

Off the start, Xuggy got ahead of me and while not slow, he was costing me time. It wasn't until Lap04 that I managed a pass coming off the far hairpin and was able to pull away smartly. Next up was Will some distance away but over the laps, I managed to close til he was in sight. Try as I may, though, Will was able to keep the cushion relatively static and earned a good P4. Sorry to see that Sergio fell afoul of the trackside traps mid-race. This place takes no prisoners.

Next up is Road America and I'll be thankful to be done with it. Not that I dislike the circuit. Far from it. I think it ranks as just about #1 in North American tracks. Trouble is I've done no less than five events here over the last weeks and I'm getting rather bored with it. Could drive it in my sleep. :)
Those who do not learn from history will be condemned to relive its mistakes.
